If you're having a firearm transfered from one owner to another, or buying a new firearm from Mystic Arms or another source, please use our self service portal before you arrive. This will allow us to pre-fill and print out your state paperwork before you arrive.
We buy used guns! We love to buy used guns actually. Send us an email or give us a call for a ballpark trade in value. Be warned: We're buying your gun to offer it for sale to other customers so we're not going to give you full retail price for it. We will open the Blue Book and show you the value for your item so you know what to expect and there will be no questions.
First, it’s important to understand how consignments work in general. A consignment sale is one where the owner of the item (you) remains the owner until the piece is sold to a third party. What that means is that you take your firearm to a consignment store and make an agreement that they will sell it on your behalf since they have access to more people interested in purchasing firearms than you do. You go home and retain ownership of the gun. When the shop sells the gun to a third party, you relinquish ownership and receive payment.
Since Mystic Arms is doing the work of selling your gun to a new owner, they receive a portion of the sale price. This consignment fee is not paid until the firearm is sold. There should be no upfront costs to firearm consignment. However, consignment fees can range from 15-25%. Make sure you know what the consignment fee is and why. Make sure you know whether the fee is fair for the work that’s being done.
We can purchase your gun collection all at once. This gives you the advantage of immediate payment without waiting until they are all sold individually.
Together, we will price each piece based on the market, manufacturer, model and condition. Once priced, you can be confident we will not sell your item for less than we agreed upon. If we are offered a price that is "close" and we believe you may be interested in the price, we will call you for your decision.
